Yoga can help people with arthritis, fibromyalgia, migraine, low back pain, and many other types of chronic pain conditions. A session generally begins with breathing exercises to relax the body and help free the mind of worries and distractions. The session then proceeds through a series of seated, standing, and prone yoga postures. The sessions typically end with breathing, sound healing or Yoga Nidra meditation.

Somatic yoga is a type of yoga that focuses on being aware of your body's sensations and movements. It's a gentle, mindful practice that encourages you to explore what it feels like to be in your own body.
-
Somatic yoga can help you relax, lower stress, and promote mind-body awareness.
-
Somatic yoga is different from other types of yoga because it focuses on how movements feel to you, not how they look.
-
It's about being present and sensing your body in every moment, without pushing or trying to achieve anything.

Yin yoga works deeply into our body with passive, longer-held poses.
It targets the deepest tissues of the body, our connective tissues – ligaments, joints, bones, the deep fascia networks of the body and the meridians. This is contrast to a Yang yoga practice such as Vinyasa yoga which targets the muscles.
Energetically, Yin yoga improves the energy flow, enhancing the flow of chi in the organs. To be healthy, we need healthy organs as well as healthy muscles. Yin yoga also offers wonderful emotional and mental health benefits.
